GAME RECAP

NCCU trailed after the 1st quarter and won each of the next three, beating Shanghai Jiao Tong 83-71 in the opening game of their title defense.

In the 2nd quarter, SJTU turned the ball over 10 times which led to NCCU scoring 10 fast break points and an 11-0 run, leaving the score at 42-36 at the break.

Hsu Te Chi (徐得祈) scored 22 points with 4 steals. Lin En Yu (林恩宇) came off the bench for 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting with 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals in 17 minutes, matching the most steals anyone has recorded in a game this tournament.

NCCU did the damage inside, scoring 46 points in the paint and pulling 15 offensive rebounds to SJTU's 8 on the way to 13 second-chance points. Boubacar Mboup (波波卡) finished with 8 rebounds, 5 of them at the offensive end.
